The Peace Garden at Community Presbyterian Church provides a setting where those who so desire can provide memorials for their loved ones, family members or friends, or recognize other important events in their lives. Since its foundation in 1997, the plant life and shrubs have matured, perennials have been added and developed, and annual flower plantings have supplemented the color and texture of the Garden. The Peace Garden enhances our physical church property and has paths and an entrance from the street side for the benefit of all to enjoy. The support and participation of many members of the congregation, and other friends of the church have been responsible for the progress to date. A volunteer crew maintains designated areas, adding their own personal touch to the established garden. Current projects in the Garden include establishing a new planting area on the front southwest corner of the church property and creating plans for an outdoor worship area extended from the Garden. To date, there have been 37 scatterings in our Peace Garden. These individuals are remembered each year on their birthdays with a special bouquet displayed and announced at Sunday worship. |
"There are no strangers in this place because we are all children of God." |
